Nexium

Nexium (esomeprazole) is a prescription medication used to treat Acid reflux, GERD, stomach ulcers. Nexium is a proton pump inhibitor heavily advertised in New Zealand for treating frequent heartburn, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and stomach ulcers.

Nexium blocks the proton pump in the stomach lining — the final step in acid production. By blocking this pump, it dramatically reduces the amount of acid the stomach produces, allowing ulcers and inflamed esophagus tissue to heal.

Commonly reported side effects of Nexium include Headache, Diarrhea, Nausea, Abdominal pain, Low magnesium (long-term), and Increased fracture risk (long-term). This is not a complete list — tell your doctor or pharmacist about any side effects you experience.
