Victoza

Victoza (liraglutide) is a prescription medication used to treat Type 2 diabetes, obesity. Victoza is a daily injectable GLP-1 receptor agonist advertised in Canada for adults with type 2 diabetes. It improves blood sugar control and has also been shown to reduce cardiovascular risk.

Victoza mimics the GLP-1 hormone that the gut releases after eating. It stimulates insulin secretion from the pancreas, suppresses glucagon (which raises blood sugar), and slows gastric emptying — all reducing blood sugar levels.
