Xifaxan

Xifaxan (rifaximin) is a prescription medication used to treat Irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea, hepatic encephalopathy. A heavily advertised gut-targeted antibiotic used for IBS with diarrhea and to prevent confusion episodes from liver disease.

A poorly absorbed antibiotic that acts mainly inside the gut to reduce certain bacteria linked to symptoms.

Commonly reported side effects of Xifaxan include Nausea, Increased liver enzymes, Dizziness, Fatigue, and Swelling. This is not a complete list — tell your doctor or pharmacist about any side effects you experience.
