Repatha

Repatha (evolocumab) is a prescription medication used to treat High cholesterol, cardiovascular disease. Repatha is a biologic injection advertised in Canada to lower LDL (bad) cholesterol in adults with cardiovascular disease or inherited high cholesterol who cannot achieve adequate control with statins alone.

Repatha is a PCSK9 inhibitor. PCSK9 is a protein that destroys LDL receptors on liver cells. By blocking PCSK9, more LDL receptors remain active, allowing the liver to remove more LDL cholesterol from the blood.
